Thus, where property is given to Tessy in fee simple on condition that she remains a practicing lawyer, the transfer is defeated where Tessy chooses to become a seamstress rather than continues her law practice. When that happens, the property reverses to the grantor or to his heirs (if the grantor is dead). The grantor or his heirs are in this case referred to as reversioners. See Bashir v.
